The circus arts are an exciting hybrid of art and sport. All experience levels are welcome! Our experienced coaches take students through all steps of the process, teaching correct techniques for each apparatus while creating a fun and supportive environment for learning and growing.
FALL SESSION 2024
4pm to 6pm / Tuesdays / September 10 to December 10 / 13-Weeks / $250 / Ages 9 – 16
Limited to 18 students. One week off for Fall Break the week of November 25th.
We love seeing returning faces and new ones too! You’ll receive coaching from professional circus performers in a multitude of disciplines including acrobatics, aerial silks, trapeze, stilt walking, juggling, unicycling, balancing tricks, and clown routines.
COACHES:
Elizabeth Fluharty, (Aerialist on Silk & Rope, Acrobalance) for the last 10+ years, has been learning, performing, and teaching a variety of circus arts including partner acrobatics, aerial silks, aerial rope, and stilts. Thanks to more than a decade of saying “yes” to all kinds of crazy adventures, the circus has become her life and passion. You can often find her teaching classes at Mountain Shadows Aerial Silks and the Millibo Art Theatre, where she loves helping other people find their inner and outer strength through circus arts.
Christopher Keller, (Clown, Animal Trainer, Acrobat, Performer) a recently returned Springs native is both an artist and an educator. After receiving an education in Circus arts from the circus center of San Francisco, he went on tour both nationally and internationally. You can now find him teaching gymnastics or circus, projecting, and spending time with his two wonderful dogs Max and Harly.
Jim Jackson, ( Clown, Millibo Artistic Director, Writer) has been adventuring in circus and theatre since 1976. Along the way he has had a great deal of fun directing, creating and performing in over thirty original productions for children and adults. He is an acclaimed clown who has toured extensively with his award-winning solo shows at New York’s Lincoln Center, Washington D.C.’s Kennedy Center, London’s Royal Festival Hall , the Edinburgh Fringe, a food court in Singapore and at thirty five International Children’s Festivals throughout the world. Known for his collaborative work as a director and writer, Jim has created national touring shows with Tomas Kubinek, Robert Astle and Rebecca Buric. He wishes to thank Birgitta De Pree and his three daughters for his best comic material.

Small class sizes, the most talented faculty of teaching artists in the region, and over twenty years of experience working with young creatives ensures a high-quality arts experience.
PHILOSOPHY: The goal of The Millibo Art Theatre’s Education Program is to provide high quality theatre arts instruction in a safe, encouraging environment. The MAT is dedicated to the belief that theatre training promotes self-esteem, builds confidence, stimulates creativity, sharpens communication skills, fosters an appreciation of teamwork, raises cultural awareness, celebrates diversity, encourages respect for self and others, and lays the foundation for a lifelong love of the arts. The study of theatre not only trains students to be better performers, it inspires them to be better people.

Office Hours: Monday to Friday / 2:00pm to 7:00pm.
REFUNDS & CANCELLATIONS: Requests for refunds must be made two weeks before the start of a workshop. If these processes are followed, the tuition will be refunded less a $20 administration fee. There are NO REFUNDS or TRANSFERS issued after this two week period. Your full payment will be refunded if a camp or class is cancelled.

SOCIAL AWARENESS: Legends, myths, poems, stories, and plays build a student’s awareness of social issues from all over the world.
