MILLIBO SUMMER CAMPS 2024

Millibo offers BIG adventures for curious minds all summer long!

At the Millibo Art Theatre, we foster learning environments and experiences that feature trusting and collaborative relationships, a creative and meaningful curriculum, and supportive, professional instruction that ignites imaginations, flexes problem-solving abilities, grows language and physical dexterity, and encourages children ages 4 to 18 to innovate, create, and dream!

For over 20 years, the Millibo has offered unique and award-winning summer programming in theatre, circus, and the performing arts. Classes are led by Millibo’s dedicated staff of teaching artists and theatre professionals, and with small class sizes, we ensure that every student’s experience is personal, up-close, and hands-on.

Before you enroll your child, set up your family profile on the Buy Tickets page under Menu → Login.
1. Create a New Account.
2. Add YOUR information (parent or purchaser) FIRST.
3. Add another parent, additional emergency contact, and/or child(ren) to your profile.
4. Begin enrollment.

Additional features and instructions

  • Select “Register” for the camp/class and choose the student listed in your family profile under “Select Attendees”.

  • On the top right, select the “reserve class” button.

  • From here you can add another student to the same class/camp session by selecting “Add More” or “Continue Shopping” to enroll in a different camp session.

  • When you have completed adding sessions/students to enroll, go to your cart or select “Checkout”.

  • You may consider adding a donation to the education programs with your enrollment. Select the donation option that is best for you and click “Continue”.

  • Be sure to check the boxes located in the “Legal” section and add emergency contact information under “Class Registration” on the review page at check-out.

  • Continue to payment. Add payment information. Once you select “Submit” at the top right, your students will be enrolled. Look for a confirmation email.


AGES 4 – 6

It’s never too early to enter the world of the imagination! Millibo’s theatre camps for young children invite play and exploration through multi-sensory  experiences encouraging children to grow their expressive vocabulary through drama, music, dance and visual arts.  Each week they’ll have fun exploring different themes and related stories with their peers and our incredible teaching staff. 

A typical camp for ages 4 to K begins with songs and team building games which lead into drama activities and an interactive story time.  Every day includes a mid-morning snack-break and free-play time in the Millibo garden.  The day concludes with a theme related visual art project and a closing activity.


Enchanted Castles – FULLY COMMITTED 

June 3 – 7 / Ages 4 – 6 / Mon to Fri – 9am to Noon / $150

Travel back in time to a world of castles, dragons, trolls, and unicorns.  We’ll act out the stories of brave princesses, fearless knights, and flying dragons who travel far and wide to make the world a better place!

Hungry Caterpillar’s Big Adventure

June 10 – 14 / Ages 4 – 6 / Mon to Fri – 9am to Noon / $150

Through stories, songs, and art projects, students step into the beloved world of Eric Carle. We’ll have fun as we travel along with the Hungry Caterpillar, sing with the Quiet Cricket, dance with the Grouchy Lady Bug, and paint masterpieces with the Mixed-Up Chameleon.

Splish Splash

June 24 – 28 /Ages 4 – 6 / Mon to Fri – 9am to Noon / $150

Set sail for the high seas in this water inspired camp.  We’ll swim with mermaids, sail atop a tortoise, search for sunken treasure with the pirates, and splish splash in the most delightful ways.  Songs, stories, and art projects abound.

Oh, Lovely Mud!

July 8 – 12 / Ages 4 – 6 / Mon to Fri – 9am to Noon / $150

Welcome to Mrs. Wishy-Washy’s farm!  Cow, Pig, and Duck can’t wait to teach you all their wonderfully muddy games, muddy songs, and muddy art activities as we dive into Joy Crowley’s delightfully silly story of Mrs. Wishy Washy and her soap sudsy world.

Under the Little Big Top

July 22 – 26 / Ages 4 – 6 / Mon to Fri – 9am to Noon / $150

Step inside the circus tent and discover the wonderful world of acrobats, jugglers, clowns, and performers! Movement, music, songs, and stories fill the week with wonder and play!

AGES 6 – 8 

As students grow, they begin to apply more advanced storytelling skills to their play.  At this age, Millibo classes work to stretch the imagination and encourage the development of your child’s growing arts vocabulary with more advanced story making and character inventing exercises and games that build confidence, interpersonal communication skills,  teamwork, and creativity.  Of course, it is all about having FUN while we learn!  Each day includes explorations through theatre, movement, and hands-on art activities as well as an outdoor snack break in the garden.

All Around the World FULLY COMMITTED 

June 3 – 7 / Ages 6 – 8 / Mon to Fri – 9am to Noon / $150

Grab your magical suitcase as we adventure to far off places! Each day we’ll travel to a new part of the world acting out folktales, songs, and dances that are special to that place.  Of course, we’ll also have fun making some super messy art projects inspired by our travels.


Hogwarts – Summer Training Academy – FULLY COMMITTED 

June 17 – 21 / Ages 6-8 / Divided by Age / Mon to Fri – 9am to 3pm / $300

Spend a week uncovering the Wonders of the Wizarding world!  Students receive special training as they prepare to be tested in their magical prowess, their daring, their powers of deduction, and their ability to cope with magical surprises.  Classes in Transfiguration, Potion Brewing, Hogwarts Lore, and Spell Casting, among many more will be offered by our most esteemed professors.


Once Upon A Who Knows What FULLY COMMITTED 

June 24 – 28 / Ages 6 – 8 / Mon to Fri – 9am to 3pm / $300

The kingdom is in trouble and we need your help! Join us as we create an original fairytale full of fearsome dragons, adventurous knights, clever princesses, and mischievous trolls.  We’ll build a magical castle, brew some powerful elixirs, and have fun creating this one-of-a-kind world.

Students share their final creations with friends and family on June 28 @ 2:30pm.


Super Secret Agents FULLY COMMITTED 

July 8 – 12 / Ages 6 – 8 / Mon to Fri – 9am to 3pm / $300

Calling all investigators!  Create undercover disguises, invent sneaky gadgets, develop secret codes, and unravel puzzling clues as we build our very own world of mystery through collaborative storytelling.  Expect the unexpected in this fun-filled and super-silly spy camp.

Hogwarts – Fantastic Beasts – FULLY COMMITTED

Hogwarts needs your help tending to Hagrid’s Menagerie of fantastical beasts.  Working alongside professors in Transfiguration, Potions, Herbology, Hogwarts Lore, Divination, and the Care of Magical Creatures you will brew potions for dragons, solve the impossible riddles of Hippogriffs, and even meet a Patronus.


Puppets, Puppets! – FULLY COMMITTED 

July 29 – Aug 2 / Ages 6-8 /  Mon to Fri – 9am to Noon / $150

Join us for a week of crafting, building, designing, and exploring as we discover the possibilities of all things puppets!  This includes hand puppets, shadow puppets, rod puppets, big and small puppets, black light puppets, and puppets out of nothing.

Theatre Sets & Secrets

June 3 – 7 / Ages 9 – 11 / Mon to Fri – 12:30 to 3:30 / $150

Join us for an afternoon of crafting, building, designing, and exploring!  This week we focus on sets, props, and special effects.  Learn about quick changes, stage make-up, optical illusions, set creation, and the magic of lights and sound to transport you to new worlds.

Legends of Olympus

June 10 – 14 / Ages 9 – 11  / Mon to Fri – 9am to Noon / $150

Bring the stories of Greek mythology to life as we create an original performance incorporating scenes, monologues, movement, and music.  We’ll build our own costumes and sets and inhabit such legendary characters as Athena, Zeus, and Pandora.

Students share their final creations with friends and family on June 11 @ 11:30am.

Explore the fundamentals of acting and discover what it takes to bring a character and scene to life.  Dive into engaging exercises, improv games, and scene work that will ignite your creativity and help you step into the shoes of different characters.

TEENS

Actors Studio

June 10 – 14 / Middle & High School – Divided by Age / Mon to Fri – 1 to 4pm / $150

Discover the essential elements of great acting as you work with professional theatre artists in this mini-theatre conservatory.  You’ll spend each day exploring a variety of techniques from scene-work, stage combat, and improvisation to theatre make up, and Shakespeare.

The week culminates in a drama “recital” for friends and family on June 14 @ 3:30pm.


Improv (Middle School)

July 8 – 12 / Ages 12 – 15 / Mon to Fri – 1pm to 4pm / $150

Discover the art of improv and “making it up” on the spot!  Bring scenes, stories, and characters to life with ease, bravery, and a whole lot of fun as you say “YES” to that wild imagination of yours just waiting to be set free!

Improv (High School)

July 22 – 26 / Ages 15- 18 / Mon to Fri – 9am – Noon / $150

In this fast-paced, supportive environment, students learn the fundamentals of improv, beginning with the all-important adage “yes, and…” From there, we’ll learn how to create stories without scripts or rehearsal using a wide variety of improv techniques, formats, and games.

Campers present their skills in a final class presentation on July 26 @ 11:30am.


Make A Circus (Two Week Camp)

July 22 – Aug 2 / Ages 9 – 15 / All Ages Together – Mon to Fri – 1pm – 4pm / $300

Explore the skills you need to be a circus star – Acrobatics, Juggling, Aerial Silks, Teeter Board, Rolla Bolla, Diabolo, Tight Rope, Unicycling, Clowning, and more! Camp is directed by circus professionals who have the experience and training to teach all of the skills and techniques required to safely perform each of the activities. No prior experience needed as students will work at their level.

Campers present their skills in a final class presentation on Aug 2 @ 3:30pm.


CANCELLATION POLICY

CANCELLATION THREE WEEKS BEFORE START OF CAMP:  If your registration is canceled at least three weeks before the first day of camp, we will refund tuition, less the registration fee. Fees are $25 per half-day camp and $50 for full-day camps.

CANCELLATION LESS THAN TWO WEEKS BEFORE THE START OF CAMP:  If your camp registration is canceled less than two weeks before the start of camp, you will receive a tuition credit, minus the late cancellation fee. Late cancellation fees are $40 for half-day camps and $65 for full-day camps. Credit can be applied to another future camp or tickets.

CANCELLATION WITHOUT NOTICE:  If we do not receive prior cancellation notice, and you do not attend the first day of class, no refund or credit will be given.

CANCELLATION BY MILLIBO:  In the rare instance that a camp does not register with the minimum of 6 students, Millibo reserves the right to cancel a class due to insufficient enrollment. We will do our best to give you 10 days advance notice. Any tuition paid will be refunded in full, including the registration fee.

CAMP POLICIES

At Millibo we do our utmost to ensure a safe and happy experience for ever camper, teacher, volunteer, and staff member!  Below are a few simple policies and procedures of which we would like you to be aware. WHAT TO WEAR:  Students should wear comfortable clothing in which they can move and play freely. We make wonderful messes throughout the day and we want your child to be comfortable and ready for anything. Please no ball gowns, tuxedos, or haute couture items!

WHAT TO BRING:  A fed child is a happy child, ready for play! Please be sure your child has had a healthy and satisfying meal before attending camp. Also, please have your child bring a healthy snack and water to camp each day. If your child is attending a full-day camp, please also provide a lunch. We ask that you DO NOT come to camp with toys, soda, or candy.

HEALTH & SAFETY:  If you or your child are feeling sick or experiencing COVID symptoms, please take care of yourself and others by staying home. You are welcome to return when you are feeling better and have tested negative for COVID.

DROP OFF & SIGN IN:  Please park your car and then walk your child to the front of the building.  Find the sign indicating the right camp for your child and then let one of our amazing staff check you in. Staff will release campers to their grown ups after checking IDs.  Please include all persons who are approved to pick up your child on your registration form.
