Workshops & Camps ~ Millibo is here for you and your kids!

Creative play is critical for the physical, emotional, and mental health of children.  For almost twenty years the Millibo has offered programming that inspires youth to grow as artists and innovators.  Our experiences running camps this summer confirm our belief in the importance of creative engagements for kids, and our ability to provide safe environments where this canhappen.  This Fall the Millibo is poised to support your child’s learning through re-imagined theatre classes, camps and workshops that offer safe and exciting environments where kids can explore and grow through the performing arts.

Small class sizes, multiple outdoor learning experiences, the most talented faculty of teaching artists in the region and over twenty years of experience working with young creatives ensures a high-quality arts experiences for ages 4 to 18.

Adapting to the virtual and on-site schedules of our public schools, Millibo will offer daytime and after-school workshops at the theatre as well as weekend intensives and small group field trips.   We are also available to work with your group to craft individualized small group experiences – home-school groups, friend pods etc…


SAFETY MEASURES IN PLACE: The safety and health of your child(ren) remains our first priority, and as Coronavirus guidance continues to evolve, we will follow all guidelines and updates provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Colorado Department for Public Health and Environment for Child Care.

The safety measures in place Include:

  • Screen campers for symptoms and close-contact exposures at daily drop off and pick up
  • Stagger drop-off and pickup times to avoid large groups and allow for screening.
  • Keep campers in stable groups of 10 and fewer for all indoor and outdoor activities
  • Limited building access.  Only campers, teachers and staff have building access.
  • Maintain physical distancing of at least 6 feet during eating and recreation.
  • Secure same staff and counselors to work with small groups for the entire week
  • Require hand-washing upon arrival, before eating, and at regular intervals throughout the day.
  • Require masks or face coverings whenever possible.
  • Ensure sufficient cleaning and disinfecting of commonly touched surfaces, equipment, and vehicles throughout the camp.


Office Hours: Tuesday to Friday / Noon to 4pm.

REFUNDS & CANCELLATIONS:  Requests for refunds must be made two weeks before the start of a workshop. If these processes are followed, the tuition will be refunded less a $20 administration fee. There are NO REFUNDS or TRANSFERS issued after this two week period. Your full payment will be refunded if a camp or class is cancelled.


Join us every Saturday for creative adventures where we bring to life the characters and worlds of your child’s favorite storybooks.  Each three week session explores a different theme employing music, movement and dramatic play to ignite your child’s imagination and flex their problem-solving, language, and physical skills.  Hands on art activities, science experiments and outdoor explorations round out the experience ensuring multiple learning engagements.

NOT SO SCARY MONSTERS / Saturday Oct 17, 24, 31 ~ 9:00 to Noon ~ $85 (3 weeks)

Make friends with some scaly, slimy, goofy, giggly and galumphing monsters!  Instructor: Birgitta De Pree

GRUFFALOS ON THE LOOSE / Saturday Nov 7, 14, 21 ~ 9:00 to Noon ~ $85 (3 weeks)

Step into Mouse’s forest and meet Owl, Fox, Snake and (of course) the Gruffalo!  Instructor: Birgitta De Pree

WINTER WONDERS / Saturday Dec 5, 12, 19 ~ 9:00 to Noon ~ $85 (3 weeks)

Uncover the mysteries of winter, the possibilities of snowflakes and all the wonders of ice!  Instructor: Birgitta De Pree

GRADES 1 – 2

Young performers learn how to use their actor’s tools (body, voice, mind, and imagination) to create characters and animate stories.  Students build a deeper understanding of story and character as they learn the power of bold choices, active listening and creative risk-taking.

YES AND… / Friday Oct 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 ~ 3:30 to 5:30 ~ $95 (5 weeks)

Have fun as you learn to say “yes” to your imagination through the tools of improvisation.  You’ll learn how to bring never-before-told stories to life, embody amazing characters, and travel to whole new worlds.  The class will culminate with a student improv show  presented live through a virtual platform. UNDER THE LITTLE BIG TOP / Saturday Oct 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 ~ 9:30 to 11:30 am ~ $95 (5 weeks)

Enter the world of the circus!  Through acrobatics, aerial arts, clown, object manipulation, and theatrics, young performers are introduced to the musicality, creativity, and joy in movement, while developing social skills, physical dexterity and creative confidence.  Hands on Art activities provide opportunities to create the props, sets and costumes for the final sharing.  This class culminates in a sharing of fun on the final day (live or virtual tbd). AESOPS FABLES  / Friday Nov 6, 13, 20, (no class Nov 27) Dec 4, 11  ~ 3:30 to 5:30 ~ $95 (5 weeks)

Join a troupe of players as we put together an original adaptation of Aesop’s most amazing stories.  You’ll help build the set, create the costumes and play the characters in this one-of-a-kind and very silly play full of mirth, morals and magical mayhem. The class will culminate with a presentation of the play. (live or virtual tbd) Instructor: Birgitta De Pree

GRADES 3 – 5

MAKE A SCENE / Wednesday Sept 30, Oct 7, 14, 21, 28 ~ 3:30 to 5:30 pm ~ $95 (5 wks)

Learn the fundamentals of good acting and what it takes to make a scene come to life on stage.  You’ll learn how to create a character, pursue an objective, define your obstacles and choose tactics that make you the extraordinary actor you know you can be. Instructor: Tierra Izzo

FRACTURED FAIRY-TALES / Saturday Oct 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 ~ 1:00 to 4 pm ~ $145 (5 wks)

Join us as we turn “Once Upon A Time” upside down and re-imagine those well loved stories called fairy-tales.  You’ll help build the set, create the costumes and play the characters in this one-of-a-kind and very original play.  Class culminates with a presentation of the play. MAKE ‘EM LAUGH / Saturday Nov 7, 14, 21 ~ 1:00 to 4 pm ~ $85 (3 ks)

Spend three weekends diving into the world of comedy.  You’ll master the telling of jokes, get comfortable making it up on the spot as an improviser,  inhabit larger than life characters and perform in your very own comedic sketch.  Instructor: Tierra Izzo

AGES 9 to 14

CIRCUS CLUB / Tuesdays ~ 4:00 to 6:00 ~ $110 (6 weeks)
Learn, practice & perform the Circus Arts!  Receive coaching from professional circus performers as you master circus 

acrobatics, silk, trapeze, stilt walking, juggling, unicycling and so much more.  Class is limited to 10 students.  Each student will be assigned their own unicycle, stilt set, diablo, spinning plates and juggling balls to avoid sharing of materials.  Coaches: Jim Jackson & Elizabeth Fluharty

GRADES 6 – 8

TEEN IMPROV / Monday Sept 28, Oct 5, 12, 19, 26, Nov 2 ~ 5:30 to 7:30 am ~ $115 (6 weeks)

Have a blast as you learn the fundamentals of improvisation!  Games and exercises focus on communication and teamwork building skills in storytelling, improvisation, character development and ensemble collaboration.  This class will culminate in a virtual presentation for family on the final class.
