SUMMER CAMPS!
Now enrolling for June & July

SUMMER CAMPS 2020

Millibo’s award-winning summer camps have been going strong for over a decade!   Come PLAY with us and discover the creative possibilities of the PERFORMING ARTS!

SUMMER ENROLLMENTS:

We are planning on having camps running in June and July, but we realize that times are uncertain and so have implemented a provisional enrollment plan.  If you would like to enroll a child in camp we can do so without an initial payment.  Just call the MAT box office (719 465 6321) and register your child for the camp of your choice.  Once we are certain that camps can be held we will give you a call to complete the registration and process payment.

If you make other plans for your child please call to cancel your Millibo camp reservation so we can open the spot up for another student.  Thanks.

OUR GOAL:

We create a place where students have fun exploring creatively alongside working theatre artists.  We build safe and fun spaces where participants are invited to dive into a variety of aspects of the performing arts including the basics of acting, story telling and movement as well as music, stage craft, voice, stage combat, circus and puppetry.

Most camps have a theme which guides the workshop content and material. This summer we are bringing back the ever popular Hogwarts camps with two unique sessions focused around separate themes.  Our Star Wars inspired camps invite young Jedis to hone the craft and own “The Force.”  Teens can look forward to Circus Arts, Shakespeare and a brand new and hilarious Comedy Lab.  Our pre-K and Kindergarten camps will have your kids journeying into wonderful new worlds full of gooey mud and marvelously wild creatures.  All camp sessions conclude with a sharing performance for family and friends.

Small class sizes, the most talented faculty of teaching artists in the region and over twenty years of experience working with young creatives, the Millibo is poised to provide your child with a spectacular summer experience!

OUR VISION:

The MAT is dedicated to the belief that theatre training promotes self-esteem, builds confidence, stimulates creativity, sharpens communication skills, fosters an appreciation of team work, raises cultural awareness, celebrates diversity, encourages respect for self and others, and lays the foundation for a lifelong love of the arts. The study of theatre not only trains students to be better actors, it inspires them to be better people.

REGISTRATION:

All registrations are processed through the Millbo box office – 719 465 6321

REFUNDS & CANCELLATIONS

Requests for refunds for one and two-week camps must be made four weeks before the start of the camp. If these processes are followed, the tuition will be refunded less a 15% administration fee. There are NO REFUNDS or TRANSFERS issued after this four week period.

DROP OFF & PICK UP

The MAT lobby will open 10 minutes before the start and end of every class.

DROP OFF: All children ages 4 to 12 must be escorted into the lobby by a parent. Sign in your child by placing your initials next to your child’s name on the sign-in sheet. Children 13 and above are able to check in on their own with a parent’s permission. Once you have signed-in your child they are welcome to head to class where they can participate in quiet pre-camp activities under the supervision of the instructor.

PICK UP: Please come in and wait in the lobby.  When class is over the instructor will invite you into the classroom for pick up.  You will be asked to initial the sign-out sheet and then are free to enjoy the rest of the day with your child.  All students must sign out with the teacher/assistant. NOTE: Only those individuals listed on your child’s release form will be authorized to pick-up your child.

A $10 charge will be accessed if a child is picked up more than 15 minutes after camp ends.

OBSERVING CLASS: It is our experience that comings and goings distract children from the very serious work of play! It is not that we don’t want you there, we just want your child fully engaged.  Please wait in the lobby for your child and do not enter the classroom to sneak a peek unless invited to observe by the instructor.

WHAT TO WEAR & BRING

WHAT TO WEAR: Students should wear comfortable clothing in which they can move and play freely. We will be making messes and moving around so don’t wear your best outfits. Students should wear sunscreen to class since part of the day may be outside.

WHAT TO BRING: Please provide a healthy snack and water for your child for every class. If your child is attending a full day camp please pack two snacks and a healthy lunch.  We ask that you DO NOT provide your child with sugary snacks such as soda, candy, chocolate or pop tarts.

WHAT NOT TO BRING: Please do not bring toys or cell phones to class. All such items will be held at the box office until the end of camp.

“Thank you for making camp such a positive experience for my child.   This is his first camp experience away from his typical preschool and he is loving it! Each night, he has shared the events of the morning and told us about his new friends.”
