CAMP POLICIES

At Millibo we do our utmost to ensure a safe and happy experience for ever camper, teacher, volunteer, and staff member!  Below are a few simple policies and procedures of which we would like you to be aware. Please feel to call us any time if you have questions at 719-465-6321

WHAT TO WEAR:  Students should wear comfortable clothing in which they can move and play freely. We make wonderful messes throughout the day and we want your child to be comfortable and ready for anything. Please no ball gowns, tuxedos, or haute couture items!

WHAT TO BRING:  A fed child is a happy child, ready for play! Please be sure your child has had a healthy and satisfying meal before attending camp. Also, please have your child bring a healthy snack and water to camp each day. If your child is attending a full-day camp, please also provide a lunch. We ask that you DO NOT come to camp with toys, soda, or candy.

HEALTH & SAFETY:  If you or your child are feeling sick or experiencing COVID symptoms, please take care of yourself, and others, by staying home. You are welcome to return when you are feeling better and have tested negative for COVID.

DROP OFF & SIGN IN:  To reduce the number of people in and out of the building,  we will check-in your child at the entrance to the building.  Please park your car and then walk your child to the front of the building.  Find the sign indicating the right camp for your child and then let one of our amazing staff check you in.

RELEASE FORMS:  Every student must have a signed parent release form on file before the start of camp. Please be sure to fill out the online waiver as soon as you receive it. It will be emailed to you two weeks prior to the start of camp. Students attending multiple camps need only have one waiver on file.

SPECIAL CONCERNS:  Please let us know if your child has any allergies or other medical needs of which we should be aware. All parents will be asked to sign a medical release form for their child at the start of camp.

AGES 4 to Kindergarten

It’s never too early to enter the world of the imagination! Millibo’s theatre camps for young children invite play and exploration through multi-sensory  experiences encouraging children to grow their expressive vocabulary through drama, music, dance and visual arts.  Each week they’ll have fun exploring different themes and related stories with their peers and our incredible teaching staff.

Our focus is on the process of creation at this age level.  We feel it is important to focus on creative explorations rather than pushing towards a production.  We do however want to share the process with you and invite you to join us on the last day of class for a fun and interactive sharing of our process.   Specific times will be shared with you during camp.

MILLIBO'S TEACHING APPROACH

At the Millibo Art Theatre, we foster learning environments and experiences that feature trusting and collaborative relationships, a creative and meaningful curriculum and supportive, professional instruction that ignites imaginations, flexes problem-solving abilities, grows language and physical dexterity, and encourages children to innovate, create and dream!

Whether your child’s school was fully remote or hybrid this semester, chances are they spent extensive amounts of time in front of a screen. If, like many parents, you are working from home, you may be relying more heavily on television and video games to keep your kids entertained. Let us help!

Creative play is critical for the physical, emotional, and mental health of children. For almost twenty years the Millibo has offered programming that inspires youth to grow as artists and innovators and we are poised to support your child’s learning and social health during these difficult times. Our experiences running summer camps and afterschool and weekend workshops this Fall, confirm our belief in the importance of creative engagements for kids, and our ability to provide safe environments where this can happen.
