A surprising hybrid of theatre and film that is at once highly theatrical and wonderfully cinematic. Paris, 1925. In a tiny toy shop inside Montparnasse train station, film and special effects pioneer Georges Méliès, now forgotten, faces eviction. A toy comes to life. Using hidden cameras, a movie screen, miniatures and magic, Georges creates an epic cinematic universe & voyage that leads to his rediscovery. Theatrical wizard Thaddeus Phillips (‘could have been a great silent-movie comedian’- New York Times) and 80 eclectic vintage toys star in this visually stunning tour de force.

About the Artists:
Thaddeus McWhinnie Phillips is a Director, Creator, Designer & Actor who takes a wildly innovative & playful approach to theatrical creation. He has been comissioned to devise original works for the BAM NEXT WAVE FESTIVAL, DISNEY THEATRICAL, NEW YORK THEATRE WORKSHOP, BARROW STREET THEATRE, TEATRO LA ABADIA (Spain) & TEATERI (Sweden). His own work has toured to festivals across Asia, North America, South America, Europe & Australia. Using anything from a polaroid photo to a train map to a old chair as a starting off point, his creative work seeks to get to the heart & soul of any subject matter using limited means to maximum effect.

REFUNDS & EXCHANGES
REFUNDS: All Ticket sales are final and there are no refunds on ticket purchases, however we do realize life can be un-predictable and are happy to exchange your ticket purchase for another performance of the same show. Just give us a call before the start of your show and we’ll make the exchange.
EXCHANGES: Ticket purchasers may exchange their tickets for another performance of the SAME show if the exchange is made at least 2 hours prior to the scheduled performance. No exchanges will be made after a performance has passed. All exchanges are based upon availability.

Exchanges into a more expensive performance require payment of the upgrade amount at the time of the exchange. Refunds are not given for exchanges into less expensive performances.
SEATING OPTIONS
The MAT seats 109 patrons in a proscenium theatre with stadium style seating. Every seat at the MAT has excellent sight lines and acoustics. All seating is assigned. If you have any special seating needs, or would like to request a specific seat, please call the MAT Box Office at 719 465-6321. We will do our best to accommodate your requests. Wheelchair seats are A1 & A15.
