JOB TITLE: BOX OFFICE REPRESENTATIVE
ORGANIZATION: MILLIBO ART THEATRE
For the past 23 years, the Millibo Art Theatre (MAT) has presented adventurous new theatre productions that impact the imagination, widen world views, and reveal our common humanity for audiences of all ages in the Pikes Peak region. Voted the Colorado Springs Indy’s “Best Of” Theatre in 2024 and tied for “Best Of” in 2023.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Under the direction of the Box Office Manager and the Executive Directors, Box Office Representatives are responsible for providing support for all ticketed and event functions at the MAT. Position is primarily expected to process ticket sales by phone, email, and in-person including night of show purchases, exchanges, subscription purchases, group tickets, and gift certificates. Additionally, Box Office Representatives serve concessions, including alcoholic beverages, and monitor the lobby during performances to ensure an enjoyable audience experience.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
The following essential job functions are illustrative only and are not intended to be all inclusive. Duties may be modified, added, or removed at the discretion of the Box Office Manager or Executive Directors.
- Provide an exceptional level of customer service to all MAT guests in an inviting and friendly manner by responding professionally, promptly, and efficiently to patron needs.
- Process phone, email, and in person orders using EasyWare, a web-based ticketing system, including walk up and purchase at the door requests.
- Guide patrons in their purchase decisions regarding seating availability, pricing, and location recommendations.
- Working knowledge of ticket pricing, concession offerings, the content and length of the current show, upcoming performances, and other information about our theatre.
- Perform financial reporting and inventory tracking, including the handling of cash, checks, and credit card payments from tickets, merchandise, and concessions income.
- Initiates exchanges, releases ticket holds, executes the use of gift certificates, and reserves comp tickets and group sales at managers’ discretion.
- Able to work independently and handle most box office questions and related tasks with minimal to no assistance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The ability to work a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours is required.
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to connect with a broad range of people.
- Knowledge of basic analytical, math, and accounting skills, including accurately counting money and making change.
- Ability to effectively accomplish assigned tasks, both independently and as a member of the team, and follow both verbal and written instructions.
- Must be flexible and able to handle multiple tasks and conflicting priorities, even under stressful situations.
- Active listening skills, excellent problem-solving skills, and organizational ability.

JOB TYPE: Contractor
PAY: $16.50 per hour
SCHEDULE:
- Available to work an average of 12 hours per month
- Hours are dependent on the events scheduled each month
- Evening Shifts
- Weekend Shifts
