The Male Intellect – An Oxymoron
By Robert Dubac
This is a rare thing; a clever combination of theater and stand-up comedy that is laugh-out-loud funny, provocative and insightful all at once. There are two types of people who should rush and see it – men and women!” (The Providence Journal)
September 10th
Book of Moron
With Robert Dubac
“Riding shotgun with intelligence and absurdity, THE BOOK OF MORON crashes head first into the barriers of sex, race, religion, politics and the media New York Times Robert Dubac’s newest Off-Broadway hit, THE BOOK OF MORON, has been described as one of the most “Hilarious” “Intelligent”and “Scorching” satirical attacks on “IDIOCRACY” since Mark Twain.
September 16 – October 1
ODDVILLE- Happiness Comes in a Cardboard Box
“Brilliant” Howie Mandel Dave Shirley’s hysterically indescribable performance is a unique piece of brilliant abstract modern theater jammed with ingenious props, amplified physical comedy, complex multi-media imagery and a cool nostalgic score.
October 6 – 15
The Rembrandt Room
With Erin Rollman
6 shows – No Sunday matinees
“I’d call this is a tour-de-force performance, but that implies something flashier and more self-conscious – almost an insult to the deep, clear truth of Rollman’s work.” Westword
Sporting a bad hair cut and an ill fitting uniform Erin Rollman as the Museum Guard takes us on a revealing, multi-layered journey inspired by one of Rembrandt’s most famous works. Winner of this year’s Henry Award for Outstanding New Play this is one masterpiece you must not miss!
November 10 – 27
Babette’s Knock Out Opera
“Whether you know and love opera or not, you will laugh, cry and thrill to the beautiful music, clever lines and creative staging.”
Local opera star Judeth Shay Comstock teams up with the outrageous Babette and funny man Jim Jackson for ten action packed rounds of operatic comedy. Virtuoso Dan Brink provides the music on the baby grand and referee bell.
December 8 – 18
Holidaze on Ice
“I laughed until it hurt!”
Yes, the ice is mostly in our signature cocktails, but Holiday Cheer abounds in this Seasonal Cabaret with its outstanding blend of comedy, circus and burlesque. The risqué side of Winter will warm the cockles of your heart and offer a much needed antidote for this darkest time of year.
February 9 – 26
Lovette
“Tonight was one of the best nights I have had in a very long time. Thanks guys, I really needed that.”
Comediennes, Birgitta De Pree and Hannah Rockey team up to bring us a new variety show that is part Carol Burnett, part Tina Fey and entirely for big laughs. Babette and her sister Louette sketch out the wild weirdness of their extended family with monologue, video and song.
March 16 – April 2
The Crucible
by Arthur Miller
“It is time to be afraid, very afraid, of a play that seemed perhaps merely worthy when you studied it in high school English class.” New York Times
Arthur Miller’s timely tale of “witch hunts” and “accusations” is given a poignant new staging that illustrates the tragic powers of superstition, fear and hysteria. Director Kelly Walters (To Kill a Mockingbird, 2014) returns to the Millibo to bring this Pulitzer Prize winning play to life with a dynamic all-local cast.
April 13 – 30
The Heroines of Central Ohio
TRACY: “SORRY I BROUGHT UP A CORPSE”
EVIE: “WITH ONE FINGER, RANDALL SILENCES HER DEWY SENSUAL LIPS” Enjoy a comic-romp through the lives of six women writers of the “bodice ripper” genre as they attempt to solve a real life mystery with the help of their fictional, romantic characters. Premiering the full-length play by Chris Shaw Swanson, a two-time winner of the 6 Women Play Festival.
