UPDATE March 1st, 2025 – please read through the updated information.

WHAT TO WEAR & BRING

WHAT TO BRING A fed child is a happy child, ready for play! Please be sure your child has had a healthy and satisfying meal before attending camp. Also, please have your child bring a daily healthy snack and a water bottle with their name so that they can stay hydrated all day long! If your child is attending a full-day camp, please also provide a lunch. W

WHAT NOT TO BRING DO NOT come to camp with soda, candy, or other snacks that cause blood sugar spikes. Concessions will not be available for purchase during the camp day.

WHAT TO WEAR Students should wear comfortable clothing in which they can move and play freely. We make wonderful messes throughout the day and we want your child to be comfortable and ready for anything. Please no ball gowns, tuxedos, or haute couture items! As campers will be physically active throughout the camp day, we do not recommend any clothing that would not offer proper coverage for movements such as (but not limited to) spinning, crawling, or being upside down. Campers should wear closed-toed shoes to camp.Content goes here

POLICIES & PROCEDURES

ACCESSIBILITY The Millibo Art Theatre is dedicated to creating an inclusive environment where students are valued as individuals with unique needs and personalities. Should a student become overwhelmed during camp, they will be encouraged to visit the theatre lobby for some quiet time and a space to regulate. A staff member will be available to connect with them as needed. Our teaching staff will welcome them back into the group as soon as they are ready. If there are any particular accommodations which would positively benefit a student’s experience, we ask that grown-ups communicate needs and best practices on the registration form so that our teaching staff can be mindful during their interactions.

ATTENDANCE POLICY We do not offer make-up days or refunds for missed classes. If your child falls ill before the start of camp, you may request a transfer to a different camp week (based upon availability and our cancellation policy) or request a credit for another summer session. We ask that you please communicate any planned absences either via email prior to the start of camp or directly to camp staff on the first day.

CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS

CANCELLATION THREE WEEKS BEFORE THE START OF CAMP: If your registration is cancelled at least three weeks before the first day of camp, we will refund tuition, less the registration fee. Registration fees are $65 per half-day camp and $80 for full-day camps.

CANCELLATION LESS THAN TWO WEEKS BEFORE THE START OF CAMP: If your camp registration is cancelled less than two weeks before the start of camp, you will receive a tuition credit, minus the late cancellation fee. Late cancellation fees are $65 for half-day camps and $80 for full-day camps. Credit can be applied to another future camp or tickets.

CANCELLATION WITHOUT NOTICE: If we do not receive prior cancellation notice and your child does not attend the first day of camp, no refund or credit will be given.

CANCELLATION BY MILLIBO: In the rare instance that a camp does not register with the minimum 6 students, Millibo reserves the right to cancel a class due to insufficient enrollment. We will do our best to give you 10 days advance notice. Any tuition paid will be refunded in full, including the registration fee.

DROP OFF & PICKUP Camp sessions are held Monday to Friday. We ask that you arrive with your camper no earlier than 5 minutes before the start of camp. To reduce the number of people in and out of the building, we will check-in your child at the entrance to the theatre. Please park your car and then walk your child to the front of the building. Find the sign indicating the right camp for your child and then let one of our amazing staff check you in. For the safety of our campers, your child will not be released to anyone other than the persons listed on your registration list, so please ensure that anyone authorized to pick up your child from camp is included. If we do not recognize the person picking up your child, we will ask to see their I.D. A child will not be released to anyone outside of this list or without proper identification. Please communicate with your camper’s teachers or the Box Office staff if there will be someone different picking them up on select days or during emergency situations. We thank you in advance for helping us protect your child. Campers will wait inside the theatre with their teachers until camp staff release them to their grown-ups. To schedule early pick-up, please email the matboxoffice@gmail.com or communicate by phone at 719-465-6321 for same day changes. Pick-up procedures still apply.

CAMPER CONDUCT Camps are intended to be full of fun and active participation, but disruptive behaviors can deter from the learning process. Disruptive behaviors will be addressed in the following ways.

  1. Disruptive behavior will be redirected by the teacher.
  2. Chronic disruptive behavior will be documented and the student will be asked to leave the camp and wait in the Box Office Lobby until they are retrieved by a teacher.
  3. If a student is asked to leave class a second time, their parent will be called and will be asked to pick up their child for the day, NO EXCEPTIONS!
  4. Extreme disciplinary problems including fighting, bullying, vandalism, verbal abuse, or other disruptive behavior may result in expulsion.

EMERGENCY PROTOCOLS Although we make every effort to provide a safe and supportive learning environment, we recognize there is always a risk of accident with any activity. In the unlikely event of a medical emergency, the following steps will be taken: 1. If care can be administered by the Millibo Staff, general first aid will be provided. 3. In more serious situations, emergency medical services will be contacted, up to and including, calling an ambulance if the situation dictates this level of response. 3. In all situations, the emergency contact person for the child will be telephoned about the incident. If they cannot be reached, the secondary contact will be called. Should there be a severe weather alert or other emergent situation, all campers and teachers will be brought downstairs for their safety. Camp will resume once the situation has been resolved.

ILLNESS POLICY Please do not send your child to camp if they are experiencing any signs of illness or COVID-19 symptoms. If your camper shows symptoms of illness while at camp, you will be asked to come to pick them up. They are welcome to return to camp after symptoms have resolved. If you have been notified that your camper has been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, we ask that you send them to camp with a mask.

MEDICAL CONDITIONS Staff will note any medical conditions, allergies, or special needs (ADA accommodations, recent injuries, behavioral issues and strategies [ADD, ADHD, ASD, separation anxiety, etc.]) listed in the medical section of your Emergency Form. These notes will be shared privately with all teachers. Open communication with families helps us create a successful environment for every camper. We ask that prescriptions be administered to the camper before they arrive. If a child requires any medication in a non-emergency situation during camp, an authorized parent/guardian must come to camp to administer.

OTHER SAFETY PROCEDURES Millibo Art Theatre Box Office Staff lock the doors on the sides and to the front of the Theatre during camp. In the event that patrons purchase tickets at the theatre, Box Office Staff and Camp Staff ensure that campers are kept safe and separate from the area. Additional Millibo Art Theatre staff members are also on site to assist should the need arise, especially for injuries or emergencies. We work to ensure your child’s privacy and protection. For this reason, we do not allow any parents and guardians to stay in classrooms. This also helps us provide a safe creative environment where students are autonomous and accountable for their own creative experience, without distractions.

PERSONAL ITEMS We strongly suggest that nothing of value be brought to camp. Cell phones, tablets, and other electronic devices are not to be used during camp. Millibo Art Theatre assumes no responsibility for any lost or damaged personal items. Should a parent or guardian need to contact their camper or communicate information to them, they may contact the Box Office. Please leave all toys, game boys, jewelry, or any items of material or sentimental value that your child would not want to be lost or broken at home. This helps all of our campers focus on being present in the moment and interacting with other children.

PHOTO RELEASE Millibo Art Theatre will obtain a signed media release form to ensure which students have agreed or denied consent. Confirmed consent provides Millibo Art Theatre with the right to use photos and videos taken during camps and performances for promotional (via print or the web) and archival purposes.
